Set your VCR's Mon. & Tue. nite-A Force More Powerful
For those of you interested in non-violent social change, this is a must.
"A Force More Powerful: A Century of Nonviolent Conflict" airs Monday and Tuesday nights (Sep. 26-27) on KUHT-TV, ch. 8, Houston's PBS station.
Part 1 is Monday. Part 2 is Tuesday. Set your VCR's for 10 PM - 11:30 PM both evenings to get both parts of this documentary. It's something you may want to show others who are skeptical of the power of nonviolence. You'll see some fascinating historical film footage that shows how non-violence really is "The Force More Powerful". You may even want to watch it more than once yourself (as I have).
In the first episode, on Monday, see behind-the-scenes action at:
*the student lunch-counter sit-ins in Nashville, Tennessee (1960-1961)
*Gandhi's civil disobedience campaign against British rule in India (1930-1931)
*the consumer boycotts protesting apartheid in South Africa (1985-1994)
In the second episode, on Tuesday, see:
*an in-depth look at the Danish resistance to Nazi Occupation (1940-1945)
*the Polish Solidarity movement (1980-1989)
*the popular movement against Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet (1983-1988)
Remember, 10:00 - 11:30 PM both evenings.

Sorry for the previous post with the garbled HTML in it. I'm posting this note to the DoP forum on our new web site but it's having a little trouble when it sends it out to the e-mail list.
