Participating In Or Chairing Your Democratic Precinct Convention Tuesday, March 7, 2006
Prepared by: Stan Merriman Updated by: Bill Crosier and Sarah Gonzales

WHY? Because this is your opportunity to impact the affairs / direction of the Democratic Party of Texas.  It is the most basic grassroots expression of participatory democracy, right in your neighborhood. This is where Parties get built and changed. The main business is to elect and become a delegate to your Senate District or County Convention (NOTE: counties where the entire county is in the same Senate District have County conventions instead of Senate District conventions) to be held on Saturday March 25, 2006 where delegates to the State Convention are elected and resolutions passed on issues of the day.

Project for the New American Century

This group was formed in 1997. All the important members of the current Bush administration are listed as supporters in the statement of principals including Cheney, Rumsfeld, Libby, Wolfowitz, Jeb Bush and many more. This document outlines the goals of the neo conservatives right down to the budget numbers. Pay special attention to the key findings which indicate that their goals include - "fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theater wars", militarize space, transform U.S. forces to exploit the “revolution in military affairs among many others.

One particularly disturbing reference can be located on page 63 where these folks indicate that neither our allies nor our citizens at home in the United States would support these "transformations" without QUOTE "Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor."
