I am attaching a letter I wrote to Charlie related to The World Can't Wait an activist organization I have been moved to be involved with these past 2 months. I want to qualify myself first, as most of you don't know me from Adam - or Eve for that matter...

My name is Kate LePree, I am 39 years old, the mother of 3 boys ages 7, 4 and 2. I stay home with my kids Monday-Friday and work as a nurse doing 2 - 16 hour shifts on Sat and Sun. I have a rich spiritual life, consider myself a savvy and informed person and would place myself on the political scale as a Democratic Socialist.

I tell you this so you get a sense of who I am, the fullness of my life and a feeling for my politics.

I would not support or give my limited and precious time and energy to an organization that supports violent action and
"indoctrination/recruiting" into any political party - regardless of their stance on the present issues.

With that I add my note. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. I would love to see this movement empower and unify people instead of creating further polarization in the progressive community.

And please take the time to look at the list of endorses for this movement. Howard Zinn being one of them. I personally think that his approval speaks volumes about the integrity and mission of The World Can't Wait.

This has been a major issue that I have had to struggle with
people about. I went to the National Meeting of WCW organizers in NYC two weeks ago. WCW was initiated by Sunsara Taylor and Debra Small; members of the RCP. WCW is not an RCP front group as many would say though. Of the 250 organizers that were in NYC maybe...and I mean maybe 1/10 were RCP. They are a visible organization for sure and have a notorious rep - co-opting - etc.....But - the rest of us - a larger portion of this organization - are from all different backgrounds - socialist, repub, dem, anarchist, green - on and on.

I think it is important to dispel the "rumor" that RCP is "controlling" this movement. It is a movement of the people; all with a common goal- To assist the Bush Regime in it's own rapid deligitimization, to educate the masses about the immense travesties this administration has committed and continues to commit in the name of "democracy" and to empower those who have awakened to the call to
action...

Juli,

RCP is the Revolutionary Communist Party. Have you seen the other emails
expressing concern about them? I can forward you several if you want them.

And your politically correct Xmas poem is great!
